On the Radio 4 Today programme this morning (around 0830) there was a report on the current expenses scandal and the political damage which it is inflicting.

Apparently the mood among the political herd in Westminster is becoming desperately gloomy. MPs feel abused, betrayed, guilty, targetted. This is reinforced in an interview given by the Tory MP Nadine Dorries. She talks of a McCarthy-style witch hunt pushing MPs towards suicide.

There are two quite different takes on this, the first is serious. These people who are so mortified by public scrutiny and adverse feedback are the same people who recklessly took us into illegal wars against Iraq and Afghanistan, resulting in a million deaths, civil war, ethnic cleansing, torture and massive corruption.

And they think they have problems?

How sad that $15 were spent on porn when any web savvy person knows that it's allavailable online for free... Corrupt and ignorant - what an appalling bunch!

Nice clip too. Here's a recent clip on the same theme:

It begs the question: how many infuriated citizens does it take to start a revolution?
